Round LED Matrix - 340 WS2801 Pixels
340 WS2801 pixels with 12mm RGB LEDs were used to create a simple to assemble RGB LED matrix/screen. The LEDs were mounted on a 48" diameter HDPE outdoor table obtained from the trash. It was easy to tool and provided rigid support for the LEDs. It was cut in half to make transportation easier, and to support a future center section. Fiber Optic RGB LED Top Hat
Featuring a Pixel Controller Ion, 14x 5mm RGB LEDs controlled with WS2801 PCBs, 18650 battery with holder, and 2mm fiber optic strands. A cheap, synthetic, costume top hat had "random" holes poked into it using a soldering iron with a fine tip. Since the hat was synthetic, the iron made clean holes. Each LED lights up 4 fiber optic strands which are run to the holes poked into the hat. The fibers were heat bent, using a hot air rework station, to make it easier to position and route them. Holiday Light Install 2015
A large LED light install located in the Minneapolis skyway system. Each barrel was suspended at up to 60' in the air, and featured 348 APA102 pixels remapped into 16 RGB channels using a custom firmware for the NLED Pixel Controller Mini. Each LED barrel was controlled over DMX-512, and skillfully sequenced and synchronized to the venue's music system by Michael Abramson of Green Light Productions.
